Dear Parents and Students!
Welcome to the Big Apple Academy website!
I would like to extend my welcome to all of you who are interested in pursuing and achieving an excellence in education. The Big Apple Academy is a unique learning community that values and demonstrates its never failing mission to accomplish excellence amid all grade levels and age groups.
The Big Apple Academy is well known for its challenging and rigorous academic programs, but more importantly, programs that get results. The successes of our academic life is evident in everything our gifted and dedicated students do, from scoring at top levels on standardized state exams, winning nationally-wide Olympiads in various subject areas to being accepted into specialized high schools across New York City.
Greater and more profound measures of our success are our students. When we, as educators, return to contemplation and reflection of what our students have and continue to accomplish, we realize that what we give our students is something far more valuable and immeasurable. Our innovative and progressive programs allow students to construct their own knowledge. In this, students learn that their own education is their responsibility and that with that responsibility comes accountability. The underlying strength of the Big Apple Academy is the nurturing and challenging environment that allows students to take this old anonymous proverb to heart: “Teachers open the Door. You enter by Yourself”.
